Minimum Wage Increase in Azerbaijan

According to the Decree of Ilham Aliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Republic, dated January 5, 2023, on “Additional Measures in the field of Improving the Social Welfare of the Population,” guided by Paragraph 32 of Article 109, the minimum monthly wage was increased to 345 AZN (15%) and the minimum pension to 280 AZN (16.7%) in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2023, to mitigate the consequences of inflation in the country, as one of the important priorities of the social and economic policies to strengthen the social protection of the Azerbaijani population.

Decree No.3051 of the President “On Increasing the Amount of the Minimum Monthly Wage dated December 17, 2021, and Amending Decree No.1265 of the Azerbaijan President dated June 18, 2019 “On Increasing the Minimum Monthly Wage (Part 1) were repealed.

Giving an interview with local TV channels, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Republic, noted that the process of social protection of the population was a part of regular measures, and similar steps were to be taken in the future too.
